{"id":395037,"date":"2022-12-06T09:04:47","date_gmt":"2022-12-06T14:04:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/ca\/?post_type=news&#038;p=395037"},"modified":"2022-12-06T11:05:11","modified_gmt":"2022-12-06T16:05:11","slug":"france-to-host-hopman-cup-up-to-2027","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/news\/france-to-host-hopman-cup-up-to-2027\/","title":{"rendered":"France to host Hopman Cup up to 2027"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Hopman Cup team tournament, named after Australian great Harry Hopman, will move to Europe with the next edition played in Nice, France from July 19-23, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udca5HOPMAN CUP 2023\ud83d\udca5<\/p>\n<p>The Hopman Cup will be hosted from the 19th until the 23rd of July in Nice, France \ud83c\uddeb\ud83c\uddf7<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/hopmancup?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">#hopmancup<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/itf?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">#itf<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/tennis?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">#tennis<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/rI7uxBJMox\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/rI7uxBJMox<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Hopman Cup (@hopmancup) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hopmancup\/status\/1600089404705411078?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">December 6, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The competition, which began in 1989, was held in Perth for three decades.<\/p>\n<p>The Nice Lawn Tennis Club will host the event up to 2027 as part of a five-year contract between the ITF and Barcelona-based company Tennium, which operate multiple ATP and WTA tournaments.<\/p>\n<div class=\"caas-da\">\n<div id=\"sda-INARTICLE\">&#8220;The Hopman Cup, as a unique mixed-team event, has always enjoyed a special place in the hearts of tennis fans, and I am sure that spectators in Nice will relish the chance to see some of the world&#8217;s top men and women players on the same court,&#8221; ITF President David Haggerty said.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The teams will have one male and one female player, with ties featuring a men&#8217;s singles match, a women&#8217;s singles and a mixed doubles.<\/p>\n<p>Six nations will compete in the 2023 and 2024 editions, but the ITF confirmed that the competition will expand to eight teams from 2025 onwards.
