She has previously taken time off, even missing grand slams, to focus on her mental health.<\/p>\n<p>Osaka has also not competed in a professional WTA tennis tournament since the Pan Pacific Open in September.<\/p>\n<p>She put those rumors to rest with the announcement of her pregnancy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"component-root-0-2-67\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\">\u201cI know that I have so much to look forward to in the future, one thing I\u2019m looking forward to is for my kid to watch one of my matches and tell someone, \u2018that\u2019s my mom,\u2019\u201d Osaka wrote.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Osaka had earlier failed to elaborate on her decision to withdraw from the year\u2019s first slam leading to conjecture that she was scaling back her tennis career in order to focus on other projects.<\/p>\n<p>She confirmed that she will return to the Australian Open next year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"component-root-0-2-67\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\">\u201c2023 will be a year that\u2019ll be full of lessons for me and I hope I\u2019ll see you guys in the start of the next one cause I\u2019ll be at Aus 2024,\u201d Osaka wrote. \u201cLove you all infinitely.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-rec td-a-rec-id-content_inline tdi_2 td_block_template_14\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Four-time grand slam winner Naomi Osaka will miss the entirety of the 2023 tennis season after announcing her pregnancy.
