Shaping our future. \ud83d\udc4a<\/p>\n<p>A special name for a special year. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/MCL60?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">#MCL60<\/a> coming \ud83d\udd1c \ud83d\udc40 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/GRopoUh2At\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/GRopoUh2At<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; McLaren (@McLarenF1) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/McLarenF1\/status\/1623366129212133389?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">February 8, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Last year\u2019s car, the MCL36, continued McLaren\u2019s long-running numerical system of naming their cars which stretched back to the first car developed after Ron Dennis took over the team.<\/p>\n<p>MP4, which stood for McLaren Project 4 in reference to Dennis\u2019s Project Four Racing organisation, preceded the numbers in their cars\u2019 names until 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The present McLaren team continued that sequence after Dennis\u2019 departure, with MCL preceding the numbers.<\/p>\n<p>Before Dennis took over, McLaren\u2019s F1 cars were numbered from M2 to M29.
