Top seed Daria Kasatkina battled back to defeat Switzerland’s Jil Teichmann 1-6, 6-0, 6-2 on Thursday and reach the quarter-finals of the WTA 500 Abu Dhabi Open.<\/p>\n

The Russian world number eight was broken twice in the first set, losing 6-0 in 30 minutes. But then quickly took control of the match, winning the next two sets after losing only two games.<\/p>\n

Kasatkina meets Chinese Qinwen Zheng, who beat Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko 7-6(10) 6-1, in the next round.<\/p>\n

Second seed Belinda Bencic progressed to the quarter-finals after beating Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk 6-4 7-5. The Swiss will meet American veteran Shelby Rogers for a place in the semi-finals.<\/p>\n
