United Update (@UnitedsUpdate) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/UnitedsUpdate\/status\/1626833040705048576?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">February 18, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The Qatari consortium, led by Sheikh Jassim, who is the chairman of one of Qatar&#8217;s biggest banks, said:<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-reactid=\".2dhfz7k9ja4.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-5\"><span data-reactid=\".2dhfz7k9ja4.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-5.0\">&#8220;The bid plans to return the club to its former glories.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-reactid=\".2dhfz7k9ja4.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-6\"><span data-reactid=\".2dhfz7k9ja4.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-6.0\">&#8220;The bid will be completely debt free via Sheikh Jassim&#8217;s Nine Two Foundation, which will look to invest in the football teams, the training centre, the stadium and wider infrastructure, the fan experience and the communities the club supports.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-reactid=\".2dhfz7k9ja4.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-7\"><span data-reactid=\".2dhfz7k9ja4.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-7.0\">&#8220;The vision of the bid is for Manchester United to be renowned for footballing excellence, and regarded as the greatest football club in the world.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-reactid=\".2dhfz7k9ja4.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-7\"><span data-reactid=\".2dhfz7k9ja4.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-4.0\">The Glazer family, who bought United in 2005, are considering selling as they &#8220;explore strategic alternatives&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-reactid=\".2dhfz7k9ja4.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-9\"><span data-reactid=\".2dhfz7k9ja4.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-9.0\">Ineos has yet to release a statement, but it is understood the proposal will emphasise that Manchester-born Ratcliffe would be &#8220;a British custodian for the club&#8221; and would aim to &#8220;put the Manchester back into Manchester United&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-reactid=\".2dhfz7k9ja4.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-9\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-415907 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/sirbob-rath-e1676708208394.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" width=\"543\" height=\"421\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-reactid=\".2dhfz7k9ja4.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-10\"><span data-reactid=\".2dhfz7k9ja4.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-10.0\">The Ineos group has a history of investment in sport and owns French Ligue 1 club Nice and Swiss club Lausanne. <\/span><span data-reactid=\".2dhfz7k9ja4.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-11.0\">Its sporting portfolio also includes high-profile sailing team Ineos Britannia &#8211;
