report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Saudi-funded LIV Golf are reportedly set to &#8216;stop paying travel expenses&#8217; for its players and caddies, as the mega-money series look to crack down on their spending during its second season.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">LIV Golf will stop paying travel expenses from 2024. <\/p>\n<p>It has also been suggested that when images circulated of breakaway tour players &#39;carousing&#39; GolfMagic (@GolfMagic) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GolfMagic\/status\/1630892811649155079?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">March 1, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Bankrolled by Saudi Arabia\u2019s Public Investment Fund, LIV Golf caused a stir in the sport in 2022 when it lured some of the top players away from the existing Tours with the promise of guaranteed, big-money paydays and a reduced schedule.<\/p>\n<p>There is no doubt LIV has not been short of cash following its inception last summer, signing players on multi-million-pound deals, whilst offering lucrative prize pots in each of its tournaments.<\/p>\n<p>One other incentive that was offered was the covering of expenses as the players and caddies made their way across the globe to compete.<\/p>\n<p>According to media reports, however, all-expenses-paid plan for both players and their caddies had been scrapped with the decision coming with LIV no doubt looking to further enhance their business model in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>In their maiden season the circuit&#8217;s lawyers confirmed that LIV had made &#8216;virtually zero revenue&#8217;, whilst economy expert Steve Levitt claimed he did not see the breakaway tour &#8216;lasting more than a couple of years&#8217;
