An arrest warrant has been issued for Georgia Bulldogs defensive tackle Jaylen Carter by police in Athens, Georgia.<\/p>\n
Carter, 21, has been charged with reckless driving that led to a fatal crash on Jan. 15 of this year that killed teammate Devin Wheelock and Bulldogs coaching staff Chandler LeCroy.<\/p>\n
According to investigators, Carter and LeCroy were racing on the streets of Athens when the latter lost control of his vehicle, crashed into a street light and trees, resulting in the fatal outcome for him and offensive tackle Wheelock.<\/p>\n
Police said LeCroy’s car was going 104 miles per hour at the time of the crash, and the driver’s BAC was 0.197. Later today in Indianapolis, Carter was scheduled to meet with members of the media during the training camp meeting of the candidates for a place in the National Football League. Many experts expected him to be the number 1 pick in the draft in June, but his arrest and possible imprisonment could seriously hinder his sports career.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
