The 64-year-old expressed his suspicions about Jose Mourinho two-match being cancelled. In a pre-match press conference ahead of Tuesday\u2019s Conference League clash against AZ Alkmaar, the Lazio boss said that the ban was cancelled out of respect for his fellow Portugeese manager.<\/p>\n
Mourinho was given two-match ban and a hefty 10 000\u20ac fine for a serious altercation with forth official Marco Serra during Roma\u2018s recent 2-1 loss to Cremonese in Serie A.<\/p>\n
That decision, however, was later put down, as FIGC declared the cancelation of the punishment in order to conduct a thorough investigation.<\/p>\n
Sarri was quick to remind the press of his misdemeanours with the match officials back in September 2021 when he was also slapped with a two-match ban. Back then, the Italian coach was suspended in Lazio’s 2-0 deafeat to AC Milan for entering the field and “looking for an argument”. He was also claimed to be \u201cassuming intimidatory behaviour and using threatening language,\u201d during the incident.<\/p>\n
Sarri was adamant that the two cases bear an undeniable resemblence, but were treated differently. He also pointed out the inconsistencies between the referees\u2019 reports and those of the federal prosecutors.<\/p>\n
