{"id":429441,"date":"2023-03-08T13:11:56","date_gmt":"2023-03-08T18:11:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/ca\/?post_type=news&#038;p=429441"},"modified":"2023-03-08T13:11:56","modified_gmt":"2023-03-08T18:11:56","slug":"golf-canada-to-launch-a-pilot-womens-golf-festival","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/news\/golf-canada-to-launch-a-pilot-womens-golf-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"Golf Canada to launch a pilot Women\u2019s Golf Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Golf Canada and The Glencoe Golf and Country Club in Calgary have announced a partnership that will support enhancements to the Digital Commerce Bank Glencoe Invitational, along with the pilot launch of a week-long women\u2019s golf festival taking place across the Calgary region during the week of the championship.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Golf Canada &amp; <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/glencoeclub?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@glencoeclub<\/a> have announced a partnership that will support enhancements to the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GlencoeInv?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@GlencoeInv<\/a>, along with the pilot launch of a week-long women\u2019s golf festival taking place across the Calgary region the week of the championship.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/IWD2023?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">#IWD2023<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/jd5sdW45lc\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/t.co\/jd5sdW45lc<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Golf Canada (@GolfCanada) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GolfCanada\/status\/1633529462544293901?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">March 8, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>\u0422he Digital Commerce Bank Glencoe Invitational, established in 1992, is one of the premiere golf competitions in Canada with approximately 100 athletes \u2013 both professionals and elite amateurs in the women\u2019s division and amateurs only in the men\u2019s division \u2013 competing over 54 holes on The Forest Course at The Glencoe Golf &amp; Country Club.<\/p>\n<p>The championship runs June 15-17 and will feature an expanded prize purse of at least $60,000 CAD in the women\u2019s division.<\/p>\n<p>The winner of the women\u2019s championship will also receive an exemption into the 2023 CP Women\u2019s Open.<\/p>\n<p>Team Canada athletes will compete in the Digital Commerce Bank Glencoe Invitational and Golf Canada will assist in recruiting international players to compete in the championship.<\/p>\n<p>Team Canada will also conduct training camps in Calgary surrounding the Digital Commerce Bank Glencoe Invitational with athletes and coaches from the men\u2019s, women\u2019s, and NextGen squads.
