Zlatan Ibrahimovic has received a call from the Swedish national team, stating that they want him for the upcoming European qualifiers.<\/p>\n
Ibrahimovic, 41, retired from national football back in 2016, but returned in 2021 for the World Cup qualifiers, which turned out to be unsuccessful for the Swedish team.<\/p>\n
Ibrahimovich hasn’t been able to play much football this season due to knee injury. He has made 3 appearances overall for AC Milan this season, all of which have been from the bench.<\/p>\n
When asked about it, Sweden head coach Janne Andersson says he doesn’t see Ibrahimovich as a regular starter, but rather a supportive role, which will give the youngsters in the squad a morale boost.<\/p>\n
Ibrahimovic is Sweden’s all-time goal-scorer with 62 goals in 121 appearances. His last cap for the national team was a play-off loss against Poland back in 2022.<\/p>\n
