Cameron Norrie hopes of repeating the succes of the 2021 Indian Wells came to abrupt end as the British star was beaten by a solid performance from American Frances Tiafoe 6-4, 6-4.<\/p>\n
Norrie was well below his usual standarts and made 28 errors throughout the match as his American opponent took full advantage of the World No.10 rustiness.<\/p>\n
“I’m disappointed,” Norrie said after the game. “It was a big opportunity for me looking at the names left in the draw.”<\/span><\/p>\n “I felt I had a really good chance to win another Indian Wells but on the day today Frances was better than me, and that’s the sport.”<\/span><\/p>\n Tiafoe biggest career achievement is the semis in last-year eddition of the US open, but this is the first time he has reached the semi-finals of a Masters 1000 event, as he is preparing to meet Daniil Medvedev.<\/p>\n “It is big,” he said. “I’m super happy about today.<\/p>\n “I have been playing really well all week.
