The Spaniard did not allow his Italian opponent a break point, as the lower-rated player could only manage 48% of his first serves and only 19 out 36 points on first serve in the second set, in which he was never in real contention.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t serve well today, which made the biggest difference,\u201d Sinner said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe baseline rallies I felt okay, I had my chances, especially first set. But he played the important points better than me today, so he deserved to win.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alcaraz had 28 winners and made 14 unforced errors.<\/p>\n<p>Daniil Medvedev, on the other hand, had to overcome a slightly more difficult task of defeating the resilliant Tiafoe, who put up a courageous fight against his much more experienced and illustrious Russian opponent. Medvedev just edged out the young American, who came short in both sets 7-5, 7-6 (7-4).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I didn\u2019t win this match, I think I would have nightmares for a very long time. I would not sleep well tonight and a few nights more,\u201d Medvedev said after the match.<\/p>\n<p>Medvedev finds himself in a fine run of form, extending his unbeaten streak to 19 games, which dates back to his title run in Rotterdam in February. Since then he has added another two titles to his collection in Doha in Dubai.
