With this result Alcaraz keeps his No.1 spot over exiled Novak Djokovic, who does not participate in the tournament due to COVID-19 restrictions in the USA.<\/p>\n
“To start a new tournament is never easy, different conditions. I have to be ready to get used to these new conditions, but I was really focused on the match from the beginning, and I\u2019m happy with the way that I played,” said Alcaraz after the game.<\/p>\n
The Spaniard reclaimed the No. position last week after ending Daniil Medvedev 19-game winning streak to clinch the Indian Wells title in California.
