{"id":431848,"date":"2023-03-25T14:58:15","date_gmt":"2023-03-25T18:58:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/ca\/?post_type=news&#038;p=431848"},"modified":"2023-03-25T14:58:15","modified_gmt":"2023-03-25T18:58:15","slug":"zane-gonzales-joins-49ers-from-panthers","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/news\/zane-gonzales-joins-49ers-from-panthers\/","title":{"rendered":"Zane Gonzales joins 49ers from Panthers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/nfl\/team\/san-francisco-49ers\/\">San Francisco 49ers<\/a> have agreed terms with Zane Gonzales, as the 27-year old kicker will be leaving <a href=\"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/nfl\/team\/carolina-panthers\/\">Carolina Panthers<\/a> to join the Niners.<\/p>\n<p>The San Francisco&#8217;s team has struggled for a long time to find a quality replacement for longtime kicker <a href=\"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/nfl\/player\/robbie-gould\/\">Robbie Gould<\/a> and Gonzales might just be what they needed.<\/p>\n<p>The deal will be finalized once Gonzales goes through all the physical procedures.<\/p>\n<p>Carolina re-signed kicker Eddie Pineiro on Thursday and that pretty much sealed the fate of Gonzales, who was clearly unwanted at his former club.<\/p>\n<p>Gonzalez missed the whole 2022 season with a groin injury, leading to his departure from Carolina. He was 20 for 22 on field goals for the Panthers in 2021 \u2014 making all 17 tries from inside 50 yards.<\/p>\n<p>Gonzalez also had 63.6% of his kickoffs go for touchbacks in 2021.
