The Atlanta Falcons<\/a> are interested in signing free agent defensive end Calais Campbell<\/a> on a one-year deal, reports from NFL Network Insider suggested on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Approaching 37 years of age, Campbell is still a force to be reckoned with as he has proven so many times throughout his long career.<\/p>\n

This would be the veteran’s 16th season in the NFL, a period in which he has contributed with 99 career sacks, 16 forced fumbles, 809 tackles and 165 tackles for lost spread in 227 appearances for three clubs – the Cardinals, Jaguars and his most recent team the Ravens, who released him on March 13.<\/p>\n

The potential addition of Campbell to the squad adds much needed calmness in the dressing room, full with young players whose talent is yet to flourish.<\/p>\n
