{"id":432310,"date":"2023-03-30T17:15:25","date_gmt":"2023-03-30T21:15:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/ca\/?post_type=news&#038;p=432310"},"modified":"2023-03-30T17:15:25","modified_gmt":"2023-03-30T21:15:25","slug":"tennis-umpire-receives-lifetime-ban-for-manipulating-results","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/news\/tennis-umpire-receives-lifetime-ban-for-manipulating-results\/","title":{"rendered":"Tennis umpire receives lifetime ban for manipulating results"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A tennis umpire from the Dominican Republic was given a lifetime ban on Thursday for manipulating matches in November and December 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Fabi\u00e1n Carrero was found to have committed 16 breaches of tennis\u2019 anti-corruption program across eight matches in tournaments held in the Dominican Republic in November and December 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Carrero manipulated the match scoring in a handheld device \u201cto facilitate guaranteed betting wins on specific points,\u201d the International Tennis Integrity Agency said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>He has been suspended since March last year while the case proceeded.
