Tyler O&#8217;Neill for 4<sup>th<\/sup> straight season on the first day of the new season by homering.<\/p>\n<p>In his first match for the Cardinals, the catcher Willson Contreras got injured and departed after the 8<sup>th<\/sup> inning.<\/p>\n<p>Springer finished 5 for 6 as he also recorded 5 singles in the 4\/5 hit match in his career to go along with the 6<sup>th<\/sup> game for Houston at Oakland back in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>George put a Jays record for hits in the first game and, along with Adley Rutschman, became the first pair with 5 hits each on opening day since at least 1901.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s awesome. Obviously, you want to start off good,&#8221; Springer said. &#8220;It&#8217;s only one game.
