Jon Rahm lifted the Masters trophy after an excellent performance in the final day to top American Brooks Koepka, who against the odds fell off drastically at the critical moments.<\/p>\n
Rahm registered a three-under 69 to finish on 12 under and win by four shots as Koepka, who led by two going into the final round, could only manage a 75.<\/p>\n
Phil Mickelson, who shot an excellent seven-under 65 to finish eight under, finished tied in second with Koepka.<\/p>\n
Defending champion Scottie Scheffler finished in a group on four under, along with England’s US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick.<\/p>\n
With his success Rahm becomes the fourth Spanish player to lift the Masters trophy.<\/p>\n
“I wasn’t sure how [the emotion] was going to come to me until I hit the third shot on the 18th,” he said.<\/p>\n
