Despite succumbing to 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid in the first leg of the 1\/4 finals of the Champions League, head-coach Frank Lampard expressed optimism that his team can fight back in the return leg at Stamford Bridge next week.<\/p>\n
The London team did show some promising signs in the game as they had to hold a strong Real team with 10 men after Ben Chilwell straight red before the one hour mark.<\/p>\n
However, the Blues were still struggling in one area that has been troublesome for them for a long time – scoring goals, in fact the haven’t managed to score a single goal in their last four outings. But Lampard still remained enthusiastic about his team’s chances.<\/p>\n
“Special things can happen at Stamford Bridge,” he said, “We have to believe.”<\/p>\n
“There’s a bit of a lack of belief. The players don’t know how good they are. There was some good in there. Next week will be a big fight.\u201d<\/p>\n
“There are some details and mindset stuff, we have to be more positive. If we do that… I’ve been involved in those nights at Stamford Bridge.”<\/p>\n
