Speaking of their shortcomings in the slumbering home defeat, manager Frank Lampard said his team got the basics wrong and have to work harder to improve on their form.<\/p>\n
“We have to address it very quickly, me and the players, because that’s not a Chelsea performance,” he said.<\/p>\n
“I’ve been at the club nine days. I don’t like what I saw today,”<\/p>\n
“I’m not going to try to dress that up in any way. There should be a feeling when you play for Chelsea where you’re proud.\u201d<\/p>\n
“To get there, there needs to be a new energy. That needs to come back.”<\/p>\n
Chelsea face Real Madrid on Tuesday in what is their last chance of salvaging their horrendous season.
