Luis Enrique has reportedly held talks with Chelsea on April 2, following Graham Potter’s sacking.<\/p>\n
The former Treble winner with Barcelona was ready to take charge of the club, but was disappointed with Boehly’s decision to appoint Lampard as interim manager.<\/p>\n
Graham Potter was sacked after series of disappointing results and many were shocked by the owner’s decision to appoint former Chelsea player Frank Lampard, who had been sacked as head-coach just two years prior.<\/p>\n
Many candidates were present, but most preferred to start from the summer with the exception of Enrique, who showed his readiness to take charge immediately.<\/p>\n
Enrique has been without a job since leaving Spain after the World Cup and was highly motivated to lead Chelsea for the rest of the season, and especially in the 1\/4 final tie against Real Madrid.<\/p>\n
However, the Spaniard was left frustrated with team’s owner Todd Boehly decision to appoint Lampard.<\/p>\n
