{"id":433805,"date":"2023-04-22T16:45:10","date_gmt":"2023-04-22T20:45:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/ca\/?post_type=news&#038;p=433805"},"modified":"2023-04-22T16:45:12","modified_gmt":"2023-04-22T20:45:12","slug":"stephen-piscotty-signs-for-white-sox-to-minor-league-contract","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/news\/stephen-piscotty-signs-for-white-sox-to-minor-league-contract\/","title":{"rendered":"Stephen Piscotty signs for White Sox to minor league contract"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Chicago White Sox have signed veteran Stephen Piscotty to a minor league contract, the team announced on Saturday before their game against Tampa Bay Rays.<\/p>\n<p>Piscotty has spent 8 years at the MLB in three different clubs &#8211; St. Louis Cardinals (2015-2017), Oakland Athletics (2018-2022) and a very brief spell with San Francisco Giants, who bought him in February, but subsequently released him on March 29.<\/p>\n<p>The 32-year old has a .255 batting average and .324 on-base-percentage, with 93 homers and 354 RBIs in 726 appearances in the MLB.<\/p>\n<p>Last year Piscotty hit .190 with five homers and 14 RBIs with Oakland in 42 outings.<\/p>\n<p>He helped Oakland reach the playoffs in 2018 after a three year drought.
