Alabama have fired head-coach Brad Bohannon after report had suggested that his team was involved in suspicious bets.<\/p>\n
The team have emerged with a statement saying that Bohannon has violated \u201cthe standards, duties and responsibilities expected of university employees.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to the official statement Alabama’s athletic director Greg Byrne started the actions, which led to Bohannon’s sacking.<\/p>\n
Jason Jackson, the pitching coach, will take Bohannon’s place as an interim manager.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve, out of an abundance of caution, asked our operators not to offer wagers on Alabama baseball,\u201d spokesman Doug Harbach said on Thursday.<\/p>\n
At the moment the university is refusing to give any further information as there is an ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
