The Washington Commanders<\/a> co-owner Dan Snyder has agreed the takeover bid from American investor Josh Harris<\/a>, which would see the sell of the NFL franchise for a record-breaking fee.<\/p>\n

The estimated fee is reported to be around $6.05bn, which tops the previous record of $4.65bn, set last year by the Walton-Penner group, who purchased the Denver Broncos<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Under Harris’ wing are NBA legend Magic Johnson and billionare Mitchell Rales.<\/p>\n

A meeting between all 32 team owners is scheduled for May 22-24 in Minneapolis, where the deal will be approved by the finance committee and ratified by 75 % of the owners.<\/p>\n

“We are very pleased to have reached an agreement for the sale of the Commanders franchise with Josh Harris<\/a> and his impressive group of partners”, Dan Snyder and his wife Tanya said in a statement.<\/p>\n
