Pirelli have made the decision to test the new qualifying rule, which will oblige the teams to use all 3 compounds of tires for qualifying.<\/p>\n
That will result in them having 2 sets less for dry conditions. The drivers must use hards in Q1, mediums in Q2 and softs in Q3, if conditions are dry.<\/p>\n
This will mean instead of the usual package of tires – 8 sets of softs, 3 mediums and 2 hards, drivers will be granted – 4 softs, 4 mediums and 3 hards.<\/p>\n
The Italian company will also introduce a new wet tire with improved sustainability to avoid the usage of electric tire blankets. The objective of this decision is to drop off thermal blankets entirely for the 2024 season.<\/p>\n
