The Philadelphia 76ers have announced on Tuesday that they have fired head-coach Doc Rivers.<\/p>\n
The news comes just two days after the Philadelphia team succumbed to one of its most devastating losses to the Celtics in Game 7 of the second-round playoff.<\/p>\n
The 76ers had a golden opportunity to book a place in the finals as early as Game 6, but lost their home game despite Boston’s star player Jayson Tatum having a poor performance.<\/p>\n
That left it all for the final 7th game, where the Boston team breeze past hapless 76ers to knock them out of the series for a third consecutive year.<\/p>\n
It left the Philadelphia board with no choice, but to sack River, who still had 2 years left on his contract.<\/p>\n
The search for new manager has begun and the likely candidates are Mike Budenholzer, Sam Cassell, Mike D’Antoni, Nick Nurse, Frank Vogel and Monty Williams, reports say.<\/p>\n
