Patrick Bamford and his family received death threats after the forward missed a penalty in the 2-2 draw with Newcastle United last weekend.<\/p>\n
In response to that Leeds boss Sam Allardyce expressed his criticism and stated that players need protection from those sort of actions.<\/p>\n
“I’d like the police to do a lot more, but it appears when it comes to social media, they rule the world and can do what they like,” said Allardyce.<\/p>\n
“It is why the world is in such a big mess.”<\/p>\n
Allardyce said that Bamford is handling the situation pretty well despite being very upset. Furthermore, when asked to elaborate on the impact on social media the 68-year-old replied:<\/p>\n
“I fear for our lives, as an old timer,\u201d<\/p>\n
“For me, it is not a great future, the way we are looking at the world and what we are doing with climate change. I worry for my grandchildren.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
