Ferrari are on the verge of offering Lewis Hamilton<\/a> a ground-breaking \u00a340m bid to lure him away from Mercedes, according to reports.<\/p>\n

The deal, if it were to happen, will eclipse the earnings of Ferrari’s greatest ever and most successful driver Michael Schumacher.<\/p>\n

Reports say that the talks between the two sides have reached advanced point as company director John Elkann is currently in close contact with Hamilton.<\/p>\n

The 38-year-old is desperately searching for his 8th World title, which would officially make him the most successful driver in history. However, the Mercedes in recent seasons has not been a reliable tool, having been blown away from competitors Red Bull and even Ferrari pace wise.<\/p>\n

Therefore, it is no surprise that a switch may be on the Briton’s mind as he aims to challenge current champion Max Verstappen<\/a> for the title.<\/p>\n

Ferrari are preparing two scenarios if Hamilton were to join them:<\/p>\n

1) to swap their current No.1 driver Charles Leclerc<\/a>, who will join Mercedes<\/p>\n

2) or to ditch Carlos Sainz and partner Hamilton with Leclerc.<\/p>\n
