Liverpool’s midfielder Naby Keita will be joining Bundesliga side Werder Bremen once his contract expires.<\/p>\n
Keita joined the Merseyside team for a then record fee of \u00a348m from RB Leipzig.<\/p>\n
The 28-year-old has enjoyed a highly successful stint, lifting one Champions League, Premier League and a FA Cup with Liverpool. He has made 129 appearances, scoring 11 goals.<\/p>\n
However, last season Keita struggled with injuries and made only 8 league appearances.<\/p>\n
Liverpool confirmed he will be departing the club in May.<\/p>\n
“A number of clubs are obviously going to be interested when a player like Keita is available on a free transfer,” said Clemens Fritz, head of scouting and professional football at Werder Bremen.<\/p>\n
“He suffered an injury setback at the start of this season and that meant he didn’t play as often as he’d have liked to.<\/p>\n
