LA Galaxy’s striker Javier Hernandez has torn a ligament in his right knee, the team confirmed on Friday.<\/p>\n
The Mexican is set to undergo a surgery after which the extend of the injury will be determined.<\/p>\n
Hernandez sustained the injury during Wednesday night’s game against Real Salt Lake in the U.S. Open Cup quarterfinals, which Galaxy lost.<\/p>\n
Hernandez has made 12 appearances for LA this season, scoring twice in what proves to be a miserable season for them, as the team sits at the bottom of the standings with only 13 goals in 15 matches.<\/p>\n
The Mexican has had a relatively successful last two campaigns, scoring 35 goals in total after becoming MLS highest-paid player in 2020, when he joined from Sevilla.<\/p>\n
