Red Bull designer Adrian Newey revealed that he was close to joining Ferrari earlier in his career.<\/p>\n
Newey has been part of Williams, McLaren and lately Red Bull, where he has enjoyed tremendous success.<\/p>\n
However, he has never been a part of the most successful team in Formula 1 – Ferrari and the 64-year-old openly admitted that he was on the verge of signing with Maranello, describing the opportunity as “very tempting”.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was very tempting to come and work for Ferrari,\u201d Newey commented. \u201cOf course, it\u2019s such a legendary brand.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cProbably the time that it would have been most tempting would have been around \u201993 time. Also, actually, \u201997, when I moved from Williams to McLaren \u2013 that was a very tough choice.\u201d<\/p>\n
Newey has been part of Red Bull from 2006 and has been instrumental in transforming the team into a title-winning force with 5 Constructors and 6 Drivers titles in the last 13 years.
