Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios revealed he found himself in a psychiatric ward after having suicidal thoughts, following defeat at the 2019 Wimbledon.<\/p>\n
The 28-year-old is no stranger to mental health issues as he has battled depression for a very long time.<\/p>\n
In 2019 he went to a London hospital to check his condition after the loss to Rafael Nadal, where he wore compression sleeve on his right arm to cover up the scars.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was genuinely contemplating suicide,\u201d Kyrgios said, in comments published by the Australian Broadcasting Corp. \u201cI lost at Wimbledon. I woke up and my dad was sitting on the bed, full-blown crying. That was the big wake-up call for me.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was like \u2018OK, I can\u2019t keep doing this.\u2019 I ended up in a psych ward in London to figure out my problems.\u201d<\/p>\n
