Red Bull have confirmed that their former driver, 4-time World Champions Sebastian Vettel is set to make his return in his title winning 2011 car – the RB7 – at the famous Nordschleife circuit.<\/p>\n
Along with Daniel Ricciardo, his former teammate, Vettel will drive exhibition laps on September 9.<\/p>\n
‘The myth of the Nordschleife resonated, even if we ‘only’ drove the GP track at the time. In any case, it will be great fun to drive my RB7 – fuelled with e-fuel – on the Nordschleife as part of a show run,’ Vettel said.<\/p>\n
The 35-year-old retired at the end of last year after 15 highly successful years in the sport, setting many records, some of which are still and may never be broken.<\/p>\n
It will be the first time in over a decade that Nordschleife welcomes a F1 car, with the circuit holding regular grand prix in the distant past – from 1951 up until 1976, where Nikki Lauda suffered his near fatal crash.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
