Sweden is moving closer to make another bid for the 2030 Winter\u00a0Olympics as they seem a firm favorite for the event.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur preliminary study shows that Sweden has the opportunity, know-how and will to arrange the Winter Games in 2030,\u201d Swedish Olympic Committee president Hans von Uthmann said.<\/p>\n
The second stage of the biding process constitutes of a dialogue with the international Olympic Committee.<\/p>\n
The other options slowly waned away as up until recently Sapporo was in pole position for the place, but that quickly faded evidence of bribery in commercial deals emerged from the Tokyo Olympics. The Japanese Olympic Committee announced it will support Sapporo, but only for the 2034 Winter Olympics.<\/p>\n
All this has cleared the way for Sweden, who got their bid for the 2026 Olympics rejected.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think we learn from the past,\u201d Von Uthmann said.<\/p>\n
\u201cA loss is also a good reason to learn and to develop. We\u2019ve done that and we have an even better concept than we did last time, including not building any new arenas.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
