Ilkay Gundogan will join Barcelona as a free agent after his contract with Manchester City expires at the end of this month.<\/p>\n
The 32-year-old has received an offer from City, but he is believed to have declined it, instead, opting for a more lucrative three-year deal with the Catalan giants.<\/p>\n
The German international was a key figure in City’s historic Treble, netting 11 times in 51 games.<\/p>\n
He was especially lethal towards the latter stages of the season, where he scored 6 times in 7 games, all of which were very important – most notably a brace against bitter rivals Manchester United in 2-1 win in the FA Cup final.<\/p>\n
Guardiola has expressed his desire to keep the midfielder, but it looks like the 32-year-old is heading to Barcelona.<\/p>\n
