A majority of the world’s football leagues want dialogue between referees and VAR rooms to be broadcasted live and thus made public, a survey published in the BBC found.<\/p>\n
The Premier League is one of 41 leagues included in the research by the World Leagues Forum. Currently, the International Board of Football Associations does not allow the two-way audio transmission between referees to be heard by television viewers.<\/p>\n
A survey of fans in England found that 63.3% were against VAR and 79.1% rated their experience of VAR as bad or very bad.<\/p>\n
This contrasts with a 2017 survey by the Football Supporters’ Association – before the introduction of VAR – which found 74.6% of fans favored the use of video referees to support officials on the pitch.<\/p>\n
The World Leagues Forum was established in 2016 and represents 41 professional football league organizations, including Europe’s biggest leagues.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
