Sergio Perez has had a miserable run of results in the last couple of races, which have negated his all in all impressive start of the 2023 season.<\/p>\n
The Mexican was only 6 points behind his teammate Max Verstappen after 4 races and looking like a serious title contender.<\/p>\n
However, a recent slump in qualifying form, where the 33-year-old has failed to reach Q3 in five consecutive race weekends, has meant that his races have been hampered and all he could do has been damage limitations.<\/p>\n
As a result Perez has dropped a massive 99 points behind his teammate and only something close to a miracle will prevent the Dutchman from clinching his 3rd consecutive title.<\/p>\n
However, the Mexican still remains optimistic and has vowed to come back stronger.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know where is the problem, and it\u2019s on Saturday. In qualifying there is a few things we need to correct, but the positive thing is that the pace is there on Sundays, at the end of the day where points are given.\u201d he said<\/p>\n
