It\u2019s the Poirier&#8217;s 1<sup>st<\/sup> knockout defeat since Michael Johson 7 years ago, and Dustin still can\u2019t get over it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m just heartbroken,\u201d \u201cThe Diamond\u201d claimed in a podcast.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s tough. I did my best during the training camp, was in incredible form, and I got defeated. But that\u2019s the sport. I shared that in the post-fight. It isn&#8217;t very good, man. It f****** sucks. Especially because \u2014 not taking anything away from Gaethje, he\u2019s a phenomenal fighter, having to sit on a loss for 5 years.<\/p>\n<p>I had to do it with McGregor. I sat on a defeat for 7 or 8 years until I finally got it back. So, he sat on that defeat for 5 years, and boy, he got it back.
