Cornerback Clark Philips III was taken off the pitch with a stretcher with a leg injury during Atlanta Falcons’ joint practice session with the Miami Dolphins.<\/p>\n
Phillips went down after trying to break up a pass toward the end of practice and was helped up by trainers. He appeared to barely put any weight on his lower left leg before being carted off.<\/p>\n
Falcons coach Arthur Smith even claimed that Philips was kicked which cause the injury.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe got kicked. You never know. We\u2019ve got to get the X-ray,\u201d Smith said. \u201cWe\u2019ve just got to get the imaging done. We\u2019ll see. At least he got up on his own. Hopefully we\u2019ll get that X-ray soon.\u201d<\/p>\n
The news is a blow for the Falcons, who lost their main cornerback Jeff Okudah on Friday with ankle injury. Philips was expected to take in his place.<\/p>\n
