{"id":454247,"date":"2023-08-09T14:54:58","date_gmt":"2023-08-09T18:54:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/?post_type=news&#038;p=454247"},"modified":"2023-08-09T16:06:51","modified_gmt":"2023-08-09T20:06:51","slug":"former-raiders-player-henry-ruggs-sentenced-to-3-years-in-jail","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/news\/former-raiders-player-henry-ruggs-sentenced-to-3-years-in-jail\/","title":{"rendered":"Former Raiders player Henry Ruggs sentenced to 3 years in jail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former Las Vegas Raiders player Henry Ruggs was sentenced to at least three years in a Nevada prison for killing a woman in a crash while driving his sports car drunk at speeds up to 156 mph on a city street nearly two years ago.<\/p>\n<p>The former NFL player said he &#8216;sincerely apologizes&#8217; as he stood for sentencing in Las Vegas after pleading guilty in May to felony DUI causing death and misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter, a charge carrying a six-month jail sentence that will be folded in with his three-to-10-year prison term.<\/p>\n<p>Ruggs was cut by the Raiders while he was still hospitalized following the predawn crash on Nov. 2, 2021.
