Erik Ten Hag stated that Harry Maguire must up his game to prove he is worthy of a starting place, otherwise the defender will be left with no choice, but to leave Manchester United.<\/p>\n
The Red Devils’ manager is still convinced that the 30-year-old could play a key role in his plans during the upcoming season.<\/p>\n
But if that were to happen Maguire must prove he is world class.<\/p>\n
“He has the ability to be a top-class centre-back,” said Ten Hag.<\/p>\n
“He is the best for England so why shouldn’t he be the best for us?”<\/p>\n
“But he has to prove it. When he is not confident enough to fight then he has to go, then he has to make a decision. But I’m happy with him.”<\/p>\n
