Matt Hennessy has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after sustaining serious knee injury.<\/p>\n
The Falcons put the 25-year-old on the injured reserve list for Wednesday, but it was later revealed the injury is significantly worse than it first appeared.<\/p>\n
Hennessy has spent 3 years in Atlanta, making 41 appearances and 22 starts as he was expected to battle for the No.1 spot at left guard.<\/p>\n
Now it is most certain that rookie Matthew Bergeron will get the starting place.<\/p>\n
Hennessy sustained the injury on July 28 \u2014 the third day of training camp \u2014 while blocking on a running play. He walked off the field with a trainer but hasn\u2019t practiced since.<\/p>\n
Manager Arthur Smith has declined to specify the details of the problem, stating that it was related to something Hennessy suffered a year ago.<\/p>\n
