He has now publicly announced his intentions. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/jnVrZXfenx\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/jnVrZXfenx<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RapSheet\/status\/1694426203824836645?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">August 23, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The wide receiver wrote a statement on Instagram, which said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been searching my heart for what to do. And I feel that stepping away from the game is the best path for me at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It is unknown whether Davis quits football forever or just takes a break.<\/p>\n<p>Head-coach Robert Saleh shared that the 28-year-old had missed last week of training camp due to &#8220;dealing with personal matter&#8221;.
