Thiago Silva may be on his way to giving up captain duties in Chelsea after the 38-year-old gave the armband in a second game in succession against Luton on Friday night.<\/p>\n
The Brazilian is the most experienced player in the Blues squad, but he seems disinterested in taking the captain’s responsibilities.<\/p>\n
Chelsea’s first captain is Reece James, but the right-back suffered a serious hamstring injury before season’s start and will be sidelined for couple of months.<\/p>\n
Silva expressed his desire to captain the team before the season opener, but got snubbed by head-coach Mauricio Pochettino.<\/p>\n
“Our first conversation was really good.” Pochettino commented<\/p>\n
“I explained my ideas and the project, and I think he was agreeing, listening to ideas. He was really humble.
