(@centregoals) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/centregoals\/status\/1695411755642687710?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">August 26, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The incident has caused major uproar of disapproval in the footballing world and Rubiales had been pushed to resign from his senior position.<\/p>\n<p>However, the president has refused to do so, which forced FIFA to step in the matter.<\/p>\n<p>The governing body opened disciplinary proceedings against the 46-year-old and came out with an official statement on Thursday, which said: &#8220;to provisionally suspend Mr Luis Rubiales from all football-related activities at national and international level&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This suspension, which will be effective as of today, is for an initial period of 90 days, pending the disciplinary proceedings,&#8221; it added.<\/p>\n<p>FIFA also prohibited Rubiales and other representatives of the Spanish federation to come in contact with Hermoso.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Football&#8217;s governing body FIFA has imposed provisional suspension on Spanish FA president Luis Rubiales over the &#8216;kiss&#8217; incident with Spanish player Jenni Hermoso.
