The German eventually received a warning from the umpire in the third set, but that did little to satisfy Gauff.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was really patient the whole match. She was going over the time since the first set. I never said anything. I would look at the umpire, and she didn\u2019t do anything,\u201dshe said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen obviously the crowd started to notice that she was taking long, so you would hear people in the crowd yelling, \u2018Time!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Coco Gauff expressed her frustration to the chair umpire after she thought her opponent, Laura Siegemund, was slow to get ready for her serves several times. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/WjXz4bskkt\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/WjXz4bskkt<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; ESPN (@espn) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/espn\/status\/1696340228493963421?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">August 29, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Siegemund, however, had a different view on the matter as she left the court in tears.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am very, very disappointed (by) the way the people treated me today,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is something that I have to say hurts really bad. There is no doubt that I\u2019m slow. &#8230; I should be quicker.
