The Brazil national team has dropped Antony from its squad after the winger was accused of home violence by his girlfriend.<\/p>\n
The Brazil FA came out with a statement that the 23-year-old will be left out from the squad for the upcoming international games after the facts were made public and required further investigation.<\/p>\n
The player has firmly denied all the accusation, but the case is being investigated by Police in Sao Paolo and Greater Manchester.<\/p>\n
Gabriela Gavallin, Antony’s former girlfriend, has claimed the winger attacked her “with a headbutt” on January 15 in a Manchester hotel, leaving her with a cut head, which required medical intervention.<\/p>\n
She also alleges she was punched in the chest, causing damage to a silicone breast implant, which required corrective surgery.<\/p>\n
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said it is “aware of the allegations made and enquiries remain ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding this report”.<\/p>\n
