Eddie Nkietah shared his excitement about receiving his first call for the senior national team.<\/p>\n
The 24-year-old had to wait a long time before being called up after becoming England’s record goalscorer for the U-21’s.<\/p>\n
“I’m really happy to be here, proud to be here and looking forward to helping the team,” he said.<\/p>\n
“Obviously I’ve been here a few times but it does feel different – it’s extra special.”<\/p>\n
“You’re mixing with great players, obviously a great manager as well. So just that sense of pride to be here, to progress through the age groups is obviously a nice feeling and to get here is a nice step.”<\/p>\n
Nkietah has had a solid start to the 2023-24 season, starting in all of Arsenal four games and scoring twice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
