American businessman Michael Andretti’s dream of having his own team in Formula 1 is getting closer to being a reality. On Monday the International Automobile Federation (FIA) allowed the company Andretti Formula Racing to move forward with the procedure of obtaining a license for the most prestigious placein the world of motor sports.<\/p>\n
According to the FIA, Andretti could have his own team as early as 2025, but the procedure could be delayed until 2027.<\/p>\n
In order to finalize the procedure for accepting a new team, Formula 1 must also give the green light.<\/p>\n
In January, the company of Andretti, who is the son of 1978 Formula 1 world champion Mario Andretti, announced that it wanted to enter Formula 1 under the Cadillac brand and give way to at least one American driver.<\/p>\n
