Luis Diaz has shared his thoughts on the referee’s decision to disallow his goal against Tottenham Hotspur due to miscommunication between video and on-field referees during last weekend’s game.<\/p>\n
The incident has cause major outburst in the footballing world, but so far, Diaz has remained silent on the matter.<\/p>\n
Now he has spoken out for the first time, stating the decision ‘hit him hard’ in an interview with Colombian television.<\/p>\n
“The goal issue was a bit complicated. At the time it hit me very hard, but not only to me, but to all my team-mates.” Diaz said.<\/p>\n
“In the middle of the game we talked about it a lot, it (would have been) a positive result that was going to help us.”<\/p>\n
“These are things that happen, the referees are human. You have to take it easy and for the next one it will be.”<\/p>\n
The decision eventually proved costly as it denied Liverpool taking the lead with Tottenham making full use of it and snatching the victory right at the end.<\/p>\n
